The Eugene Morning Register was published in Eugene, OR for many years before it merged with the Eugene Daily Guard in 1930 – becoming the Eugene Register – Guard, that is still published today. If you are looking for current obituaries in the Lane County, Oregon area please click this link Register – Guard .
I previously published an index of deaths recorded in Eugene, OR newspapers up until the beginning of the Oregon Death Index (1903) – an index of death certificates filed with the State of Oregon. As I did research I found that in the early years many deaths were not recorded with a death certificate. I hope that this index will help bridge that gap. Names are either from a death notice, an obituary or related article
