Mrs. Julia A Dillard Oregon Pioneer dies February 1896

Mrs. Julia A. Dillard died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. S. J. McClure, at 11th and Patterson streets, at 9 o’clock last evening after a lingering illness, at the age of 85 years, 2 months and 19 days.

Mrs. Dillard, whose maiden name was Renshaw, was born in Knox county, Tennessee, in 1810.  In 1828 she was married to Stephen Dillard, and in 1837 they removed to Missouri, where they resided until the Spring of 1856, when they removed to California.  In 1858 they came to Oregon and settled on a homestead at Camas Swale, where they resided until the death of Mr. Dillard.  For some time Mrs. Dillard has been residing with her daughter, Mrs. McClure, of this city.

Deceased leaves five children as follows: Wm R and Geo Dillard, of Goshen, Horace A Dillard of Burus [?], Mrs. Mary F Hendricks, of Kelseyville, California, and Mrs. S. J. McClure of this city.  She also leaves two sisters  Mrs. Amanda Reed, of Creswell, and Mrs. Rebecca Dugan, of Springfield, and a large number of grand-children and friends who mourn her death. 

The funeral will be held from the residence tomorrow at 10:30 a.m. to the Masonic cemetery.  Daily Eugene Guard (Oregon), Feb 19, 1896, pg. 4 col. 3.  University of Oregon Knight Library, Newspaper Collection.

I found no record of her burial at the Eugene Masonic Cemetery
