Lucinda Laird – Oregon Pioneer dies Dec. 2, 1908

LAIRD — At her home at 756 Patterson Street, on Wednesday, December 2, 1908, of creeping paralysis, Mrs. Lucinda Laird, aged 77 years, 11 months, and 13 days.  Deceased was one of the pioneers of Lane County and came across the plains with her husband in the early 50’s.  Mr. Laird died at Pleasant Hill in 1876.  She leaves five sons and three daughters: S.T. Laird of Kennewick, Washington; J.W. Laird of Garfield, Washington;  R.H. Laird of Scottsburg, Oregon; William Laird of Garfield, Washington;  Mrs. H.T. Bristow of Bell Fountain; Miss Addie Laird of Eugene; and P.N. Laird and Mrs. J.H Lewis of Nez Perce, Idaho.  The funeral will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at the family residence, and interment made at the Pleasant Hill cemetery, Rev.  J.S. McCallum officiating.”  Eugene Morning Register Dec 3, 1908, pg. 5.

According to the Pleasant Hill [Oregon] Cemetery records she was born in 1830 and died 1908 and is buried in lot B2225, Patrick Laird born 1825 and died 1876 is buried in lot B2224 – I assume to be her husband.
