Persons of interest: Mrs. Fannie Mayhew was the mother of Charles Mayhew of Eugene. Mr. Daniels was the former Western Union operator in Eugene. Was in ill health and had returned to live with his father. Arthur Larson, a young child, fell into a tub a scalding water – a bath was being prepared for his father. James Gwin was a Civil War veteran. Floyd Beckman drowned attempting to cross the flooded Fall Creek on horseback. Arthur Frazer was a Circuit Court Judge. J.R. Winter was the brother of J.A. Winter of Eugene.
Item of note: Special pricing was available to those who wanted to ride the train to the University of Oregon & Multnomah football game. Round trip tickets to Portland to cost $ 3.75. Passengers encouraged attend properly decorated to advertise Eugene and the state university. Riders would receive special lemon yellow and green Eugene buttons.
